Helice is still finding its audience in the US, but the discipline's American following has grown enough that the 2024 US Helice Nationals filled the Texas calendar. Three days of competition under a winter sun that ranged from cold mornings to warm afternoons.
The ring at the host club had been refurbished for the event, with new launcher banks and a target geometry that pushed shooters to commit on the first sight of the spinning bird. The field included a handful of European helice regulars who had come stateside to test the American scene, and the leaderboard reflected the depth.
